Grilled Pizza Margherita
This is the traditional preparation for pizza with fresh tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil. This is truly the most delicious pizza you will ever have!!
Pizza Dough (See recipe)
1 Cup Fresh Tomato Sauce (See recipe)
½ Cup Fresh Mozzarella, Sliced
2 Tbsp. Fresh Oregano
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Roll out the pizza dough on a well floured surface. Place the pizza dough on a floured baking sheet and move to your outdoor grill. Place the dough on the greased cooking grate, over medium direct heat, and close the lid until the bottom is golden brown, about 3 minutes. Using tongs, flip the dough over (grilled side facing up). Top the dough with the fresh tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh oregano and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. The pizza should be over medium-low direct heat, with the lid down. Grill until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly, approx. 8-10 minutes. When ready, remove from the grill and top with fresh basil leaves and another drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy!
