Apple Crumb Pie

This apple crumb pie is delicious, combining the flavors of baked apples with a streusel topping.  Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

 

INGREDIENTS:

½ Cup Sugar

2 Tbsp. Flour

½ Tsp. Cinnamon

½ Tsp. Nutmeg

¼ Tsp. Salt

4 Apples, Sliced (Any variety you like)

Topping:

½ Cup Flour

¼ Cup Brown Sugar

¼ Tsp. Salt

2 ½ Tbsp. Butter, Room Temperature

3 Tbsp. Milk

Pie Crust:

Premade Deep Dish Pie Crust, Room Temperature

DIRECTIONS:

In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and sliced apples.  Spoon mixture into prepared pie crust.  In a separate bowl, combine topping ingredients until moist and crumbly.  Sprinkle the topping over the apple filling.  Bake pie in a preheated 425 degree oven for approx. 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking until golden brown, approx. 30 minutes.  Serve warm or at room temperature.
