Grilled Bistecca Fiorentina (Florentine Steak)
This is a very simple and delicious preparation for grilled steak. The grilled lemon and extra virgin olive oil complements the steak beautifully.
3 T-Bone Steaks (1 ½ lbs. each, 1 ½” Thick)
Salt & Black Pepper
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 Lemons (Cut in Half)
Liberally season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper. Place the steaks on an outdoor grill over medium heat for approx. 5 minutes per side for rare or 7 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending upon thickness of the steak. During the last few minutes of cooking time, place the lemon halves on the grill grates (cut side down), and grill until golden brown. Let the steaks rest for several minutes before cutting. When ready, drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the steaks and serve with the grilled lemon.
