Holiday Penguins

I couldn't complete the La Dolce Vita cookbook without including the cutest holiday penguins into the process. These penguins are silly....but incredibly cute on a holiday buffet. This is a great activity to enjoy with your children. 

INGREDIENTS:
Carrots
Jumbo Black Olives, Pitted
Small Black Olives, Pitted
Brie Cheese
Toothpicks

 

DIRECTIONS:

Cut a small round piece of carrot as the base for the penguin. Take a jumbo black olive, and cut a small wedge from the center. Fill the wedge with a small piece of brie. Stack a small olive (turned sideways with the hole facing forward) on top of the jumbo olive for the head. Place a toothpick through the entire penguin to hold it in place. The last step is to fill the small olive hole with a small piece of carrot for the nose. Have fun!
